Selling for the City of Oakley Police Department. All vehicles are sold AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH ALL FAULTS.
Vehicles are located in the impound lot. Information regarding condition, operability, mileage, title status, prior damage, missing parts, or history may be limited or unknown.

Buyer is solely responsible for determining condition prior to bidding.
PAYMENT & REMOVAL
All sales are final, No refunds or chargebacks.
Buyer must contact seller promptly after auction close to arrange pickup
Vehicles must be retrieved within 14 days of final sale
TITLE & OWNERSHIP
Seller guarantees legal right to sell only
Title type is not guaranteed unless specifically stated
Buyer is responsible for: Title transfer, Registration, VIN verification, Compliance with state laws
Do not bid unless you understand the risks associated with impounded vehicles.
IMPUND LOT RETRIEVAL GUIDELINES
Buyers must make prior arrangements before pickup so Oakley Police Department personnel can be available.
If vehicle is operable and can safely leave under its own power, retrieval may occur if an officer is available.
INOPERABLE VEHICLES
The following rules apply to vehicles that are non-running or otherwise inoperable:
Vehicle retrieval will only occur during daylight hours.
A maximum of 30 minutes will be allowed to remove the vehicle from the impound lot.
If towing is required, buyer must bring proper towing equipment.
If hauling by trailer, rollback, or similar transport, buyer must bring proper loading equipment.
Buyers are expected to bring all equipment necessary for safe removal, including but not limited to:
Chains, Tow ropes, Air bags / air bubbles, Winch or come-alongs, Tie downs,Booster cables or booster packs,Sufficient personnel to assist with loading
If the vehicle cannot be started within a reasonable timeframe, it must be removed from impound for loading or towing operations.
If proper equipment is not present or removal cannot be completed safely and efficiently, Oakley Police Department personnel may terminate the pickup attempt until proper arrangements are made.
LIABILITY
Buyer assumes all responsibility and liability for:
Inspection, Loading, Removal, Transportation
Use of purchased vehicle
Bar Z Auction Service., the City of Oakley, and the Oakley Police Department are not liable for accidents, injuries, damages, theft, or losses related to the sale or removal of any vehicle.

Guidelines for Impounded vehicle retrieval
These guidelines apply to impounded or sold items
• If the vehicle is operable with no issues, it can be retrieved if Officer is available.
• If the vehicle is inoperable the following apply:
1. Vehicle can only be retrieved during daylight hours.
2. A 30 minute time limit will be set to remove the vehicle from the lot.
3. If the vehicle is to be towed, proper equipment is needed.
4. If the vehicle is to be hauled (trailer, rollback, etc.) proper equipment needs to
be brought to allow for loading.
5. The following equipment should be standard for loading or towing
a. Chains
b. Tow ropes
c. Air bubbles
d. Wench or come alongs
e. Tie downs
f. Personnel to assist in loading etc.
g. Booster cables or booster packs
Note: if the vehicle cannot be started in a reasonable timeframe it must be
towed out of impound for loading or towing.
6. If the proper equipment is not present to remove the vehicle the officer will
terminate the removal until such time as the vehicle can be removed in a
timely fashion.
Vehicles sold at auction must be removed in the timeframe set by the auction
company.
Vehicles must be retrieved within 2 weeks of final sale
Buyers must make prior arrangements to pick up purchased vehicles so OPD
personnel can be available
