KUHN Expands Product Line, Adds Three New Rotary Rakes & A New Disc Mower
KUHN recently announced that it has released three new rotary rakes designed to provide greater operator customization to adjust to crop conditions and a new disc mower that requires very little maintenance across years of hay production.
GA 6930, 7530 & 8131 Rotary Rakes
KUHN recently introduced the GA 6930, 7530, and 8131 twin-rotor, semi-mounted rotary rakes to provide operators with a wider range of sizes to best meet their operation’s needs. Each machine is fitted with KUHN’s patented Masterdrive GIII double-reduction gearbox, designed for heavy crops, tough field conditions, and intensive use. Each also allows for hydraulic adjustment of the working and windrow width, making it easy for operators to customize their machine according to their needs.
KUHN says each of the new rotary rakes has a minimum 20-inch clearance in the headland position to allow them to pass over previously made windrows without disturbance, enabling crop to be picked up by balers and forage harvesters. Double-curved tine arms form fluffy and straight windrows which allow more air movement through the crop for fast and uniform drying.
GMD 355 Disc Mower
The new GMD 355 disc mower is equipped with a direct drive through the first disc into KUHN’s 100-series cutterbar for more clearance. The cutterbar is reinforced with heavy-duty outer bearing stations to provide support at both ends and improve its durability. Other features include KUHN’s Constant Float suspension, a dynamic system that ensures the cutterbar maintains even ground pressure across the entire working width and a mechanical breakaway to protect the mower along fence lines and field edges.
