KUHN Introduces New MDS .2 Series Twin-Disc Fertilizer Spreaders
The new KUHN MDS .2 Series is designed for a wide variety of crop operations and features a simple PTO drive and low-maintenance gearbox to help its twin spreading discs operate at working widths up to 80 feet, the company says. Available hopper extensions increase capacity to allow operators to work longer between refills and the octagonal bottom reduces bridging and sticking for even cleanout.
Redesigned Controls
Metering outlet controls have been redesigned to offer operators the choice of hydraulic or electric option to ensure the proper rate of fertilizer or seed is applied to the field. The hydraulic option allows each outlet to be controlled by its own dual-acting hydraulic cylinder connected to the tractor’s SCVs, while the electric option features one actuator for each metering outlet controlled through the E-Click switch box. The position of the outlet opening indicators has also been improved for easier viewing from the tractor seat. Operators also have the option of adding border control and banding attachments.
Connected Setup
The MDS .2 Series also works with the KUHN SpreadSet mobile app to guide operators through the setup process and ensure the right rate and spread pattern for each product type, working width, and speed. Operators can download the app for free on either Android or iOS devices.
