KUHN Adds MM 701, 1101 & 1301 Merge Maxx Models To Commercial Hay Merger Lineup
Kuhn North America’s commercial lineup of Merge Maxx hay mergers designed for medium to large dairy and commercial hay operations has three new MM 01 Series models. The KUHN MM 701 covers a 24-foot (7.3-meter) working width, while the MM 1101 and MM 1301 measure 36 and 42 ft. (11 and 13 m) wide, respectively. The MM 701 uses two pickups and two conveyors, while the other two mergers include three of each. All three models are part of what KUHN says are the world’s only ISOBUS-compatible hay mergers.
Built For The Extreme
The new MM 01 models join the previous MM 890 (30 ft, 9 m) in KUHN’s commercial merger lineup. The new mergers feature high-capacity pickups with integrated frames that KUHN says help treat the crop gently but are tested for “extreme usage.” They also feature KUHN’s familiar split-bearing design with wear guards and anti-wrap discs that help enhance pickup reliability while decreasing the time needed for regular maintenance. Additionally, the mergers put a floating wind guard to work along with crop netting that limits leaf loss. KUHN has also updated the new mergers’ main frames and wing arms, and added hydraulic system upgrades that enable greater capacity.
Work Smarter
The new mergers incorporate KUHN’s IntelliMerge system, which lets operators engage, adjust, and receive machine diagnostics and feedback on a color display. Elsewhere, the OptiSense belt stall system (optional for the MM 701) warns operators when the merger is approaching full capacity and the belts start to slow down. Operators can control the OptiSense system and all other merger functions from inside the cab when using an ISOBUS-compatible terminal. ISOBUS compatibility, included standard with all KUHN twin and triple hay mergers, is an industry-exclusive feature, KUHN says.
