Kinze Showing New Harvest Commander Dual-Auger Grain Carts At Farm Progress Show
Kinze Manufacturing recently expanded its line of dual-auger grain carts for the 2022 harvest season with the new Harvest Commander 1121 and updated its full range of grain carts. The manufacturer debuted the new model, as well as enhancements to existing models, at the 2021 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, which began August 31 and runs through today, September 2.
The new model and upgrades coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kinze’s first grain cart, released in 1971. Company founder Jon Kinzenbaw’s 400 Grain Cart had a low-profile design and was the first to use giant high-flotation tires on a single axle. It was also the first to use large-diameter PTO-powered dual augers that could empty a 435-bushel (15,300-liter) load in three minutes.
About The Harvest Commander 1121
The dual-auger Harvest Commander 1121 can hold 1,100 bu. (38,760 L) and is a throwback to the 1050 model that was discontinued in 2012. The cart features optional long-life Camso tracks, an on-demand horizontal auger drive, and dump door cleanout for quick crop changeover. It also has a low profile with short sides and directional tip control for operation on rolling terrain.
“The 1121 model offers a clean and very efficient design,” says Kinze Product Specialist Justin Render. “It’s a simple-to-operate grain cart that goes out and gets the job done year after year.”
Updates For Existing Carts
Kinze’s existing lineup of dual-auger carts now also incorporate the improved cleanout, auger spout grain control, and upgraded lighting found on the 1121. These updated carts are identified by new model numbers (1321, 1421, 1521, and 1721) that reflect the company’s new product-numbering system where the first two digits represent the cart’s capacity in hundreds of bushels, the third identifies it as a single- or dual-auger model, and the last digit stands for the cart’s model generation.
Starting in 2022, all Kinze single- and dual-auger carts will bear the Harvest Commander name and feature a new look that combines the classic Kinze blue with enhanced graphics, including the addition of the Kinze Man character from the company’s early years.
