Massey Ferguson 7S Series Tractors Make North American Debut At National Farm Machinery Show
Massey Ferguson announced the North American launch of its four-model MF 7S Series of tractors last week, a day after doing the same for its four-model MF 6S Series. Both lineups made their debuts in the North American market at the National Farm Machinery Show that wrapped up on February 19 in Louisville, Kentucky. The 5S Series and 8S Series tractors that round out Massey Ferguson’s S Series tractor lineup were also on hand at the show.
Power Talk
The new 7S Series includes tractors ranging from 155 to 210 horsepower (114 to 162 kilowatts). Models include MF 7S.155, the MF 7S.165, the MF 7S.180, the MF 7S.190, and the MF 7S.210, all of which are available in Essential, Essential Panoramic, Efficient, and Exclusive specifications. All can take on a wide range of jobs on mixed and arable farms. All models boast a visibility-enhancing slim bonnet design and are powered by 6.6-liter Tier 4 Final AGCO Power engines with an Engine Power Management (EPM) feature that gives the tractors 30 HP (22 kW) and extra torque as needed.
The new 7S tractors come with either a semi-powershift Dyna-6 Super Eco transmission or a stepless Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission. The Dyna-VT features a new Automatic mode that lets operators simply adjust forward speed and automatically regulates engine speed based on a combination of factors including the chosen forward speed and the tractor’s current load. The tractors’ Supercreep mode give growers access to forward speeds as low as 328 feet per hour (100 meters per hour), and a fuel-saving Super ECO mode lets operators reach max road speeds at “very low engine speeds.” Both transmissions are paired with load-sensing hydraulic systems.
Maneuvering In Comfort
MF 7S Series tractors are designed to provide excellent visibility in combination with outstanding maneuverability, straightforward operation, ongoing dependability, and a high degree of comfort. All have an impressive 21,164-pound (9,600-kilogram) maximum lift capacity but can nimbly navigate fields, dairy farms, and other work settings thanks to a 16.2-foot (4.94-meter) turning radius. Operator productivity and comfort are enhanced by color-coded in-cab controls, available passive and active mechanical cab suspension, and a new ergonomic armrest with a MultiPad lever and a Multifunction joystick.
The MultiPad is included with the Efficient and Exclusive specifications, and provides convenient control of the transmission, cruise control, the rear linkage, and other functions. The integrated joystick controls the spool valves. These same configurations also include an option for 16 LED working lights. The Exclusive configuration also includes an automatic air-suspended seat and a 9-inch Datatronic touchscreen terminal that allows for quick, easy hydraulics, transmission, and engine setting changes. The touchscreen also works with various smart-farming applications like MF Guide, which reduces overlapping and can help use up to 12% less fuel in field operations.
