Massey Ferguson Introduces MF 6S Series Tractors At National Farm Machinery Show
Massey Ferguson's new MF 6S Series tractors made their North American debut at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky, February 16 to 19 with the full S Series lineup on display at the AGCO booth.
About The MF 6S Series
The MF 6S Series comes in four models with designations tied to their rated horsepower: the 145, 155, 165, and 180. All 6S tractors are powered by four-cylinder 4.0-liter AGCO Power engines and come with one of two transmission options, including the Dyna-6, with 24 forward and reverse speeds up to 31 mph (50 km/h), and the Dyna-VT, which lets operators select an exact speed while retaining optimal engine RPM and is available with a 50 gal/min load-sensing hydraulic system. The tractors have a maximum lift capacity of 21,164 pounds (9,600 kilograms), an increased gross vehicle weight of up to 27,558 lbs (12,500 kg), and a high towing capacity.
That power in a compact footprint provides big benefits to growers. For example, combining the S Series’ class-leading power and torque with a footprint that is 900 lbs (408 kg) lighter than comparable six-cylinder models results in minimal impact on the soil and offers silage hay producers a balanced power-to-weight ratio to handle heavy hay balers with a 15.58-foot (4.75-meter) turning radius for superior maneuverability in the field.
“Those who are born to farm know that maximizing productivity is the key to success in any ag application,” says Darren Parker, vice president of Massey Ferguson North America. “The new MF 6S Series offers the power of a six-cylinder with the compact footprint and agility of a four-cylinder, giving busy producers the ideal machine to get the job done quickly and efficiently.”
Easy Operation
Inside the cab, controls have simple color coding for quick identification and easy operation. Growers can upgrade to deluxe models for the new ergonomic armrest with the customizable MultiPad lever and E/H Multifunction joystick for intuitive control of all major functions. The Datatronic 5 terminal with customizable digital dashboard is also available as an option and allows operators to change setups on hydraulics, transmission, and the engine from one terminal.
"The more a producer can achieve from the driver seat of a single machine, the more they can get done in a day," Parker says. "Our MF 6S Series allows producers to streamline operations, tackling hauling, mowing, and loader work with a single, straightforward, dependable machine.”
