Calling All Ground Maintenance Pros: Bobcat’s All-New Bobcat WB700 Walk-Behind Zero-Turn Mower Is Here
Just in time for spring and summer mowing, the all-new walk-behind WB700 zero-turn mower that Bobcat first introduced at the 2021 GIE-EXPO trade show (now called “Equip Exposition”) is now available in 36-, 48-, and 52-inch (914-, 1,219-, and 1,321-millimeter) cutting widths. The commercial-grade mower is perfect for new grounds maintenance professionals and veteran operators alike, Bobcat says. In either case, the WB700 offers precise maneuverability for mowing around trees, plant beds, and other obstacles, but doesn’t take up excessive trailer or shed space when the job is done.
The Drive To Mow
The WB700 is the latest of numerous riding and stand-on models in Bobcat’s zero-turn mower lineup and is powered by three Kawasaki FS-Series engine options, depending on cutting deck size. Cutting heights range from 1.5 to 4.5 in. (38.1 to 114.3 mm).
All configurations include a hydraulic drive with Hydro-Gear ZT-2800 transaxles. Bobcat says the drive’s powerful forwarding performance results in less operator fatigue. The drive works in combination with large 20-inch-diameter drive tires, which the company says provide ample ground clearance to both minimize ground disturbance and ensure smooth, easy operation on tough terrain. The WB700’s ground speed reaches a comfortable 6.5 mph (10.5 km/h). Operators also receive a boost in the comfort and convenience departments from the mower’s ergonomically designed handle and user-friendly control layout.
Tough Enough
Bobcat says the WB700 can handle daily mowing chores, thanks to its 1.5- x 2.5-in. 11-gauge structural tube frame, 7-gauge steel engine mounting plate, and reinforced box section. The mower’s TufDeck cutting system features a 10-gauge steel top, 7-gauge steel spindle supports, and 7-gauge steel side skirts. Even the mower’s roto-molded, impact-resistant 5-gallon (19-liter) fuel tank is built for the long haul.
Other components worth mentioning include the TufDeck’s bolt-on, double-wave baffles, which Bobcat says allow for enhanced airflow across the deck, resulting in even clipping dispersal and a clean, quality cut. Adjustable C-Channel anti-scalp rollers are also onboard for added turf protection.
