Case IH Adds To Vertical Tillage Line With Introduction Of VT-Flex 435
Case IH recently expanded its line of vertical tillage equipment with the VT-Flex 435, which offers variable gang angle adjustments and 30- and 34-foot widths. In addition to more size options, VT-Flex 435 has hydraulic in-cab control of gang angles on the 30- and 34-foot models and is optional on the 15-to 25-foot models.
Tillage From 11 To 34 Feet
Producers can choose from seven working widths—11, 20, 23, 25, 30 or 34 feet—according to the operational needs and tractor horsepower requirements (110 to 400 horsepower, or 82 to 298 kilowatts). The new 30- and 34-foot models are available with an optional TigerPaw Crumbler with hydraulics or spring down-pressure along with an optional rear hitch. The TigerPaw Crumbler roller creates uniform clod sizing and residue distribution. Case IH says the tillage tool’s standard walking tandem design on the main frame and wings ensures balance and stability while reducing soil compaction and still providing the optimal depth.
Variable gang angle adjustments can be made on the go for flexible soil management. The tillage tool’s durable design makes it ideal for mixed farms and from small to midsize grain operations to large operations, whether they use conventional or conservation tillage practices. Gang angles can be adjusted from zero to 12 degrees and front and rear gangs can be adjusted independently to customize residue coverage and field finish. The VT-Flex 435’s 20-inch (50.8-centimeter), shallow concavity fluted blades can cut residue at shallow gang angles to cut and mix residue with soil to encourage faster breakdown. The VT-Flex 435 has 1- to 4-in. (2.54- to 10.1-cm) depth options and a front T-hitch design, which allows tight turns. The 20-in. Earth Metal VT wave blades with crimped centers are designed for work in harsh conditions. Other features added for durability include cast-iron nodular spools and large arbor bolts.
Providing Options
“The VT-Flex 435 was initially designed to serve producers with varying residue coverage needs and to accommodate conservation tillage practices,” says CJ Parker, Case IH tillage marketing manager. “This vertical tillage tool delivers fast and easy gang angle adjustments on the go, and the expansion of the size offerings of the VT-Flex 435 truly provides producers with the options needed to meet their desired field finish and residue management goals.”
