Kuhn’s New OWS 6500 Round & Square Bale Wrapper Minimizes Film & Fuel While Increasing Productivity
Kuhn recently released its new OWS 6500 inline round and square bale wrapper, which the company says minimizes film and fuel consumption. The inline wrapper can quickly wrap 3’x3’ and 3’x4’ large square bales and 4- and 5-foot round bales.
Smart Wrapping
The inline bale wrapper uses Kuhn’s proven pre-stretchers with a 70% plastic stretch ratio. The higher ratio ensures efficient plastic use and optimal bale compression to lower the material cost per bale. Operators have greater control and management of wrapping thanks to Kuhn’s IntelliWrap technology, with electronics and hydraulics that control the wrapping process and allow film layers to be adjusted in 1-layer increments. Operators can set film layers, seam layers, bale width, and loading gap from the Kuhn VT 30 monitor.
Easy Maintenance
The OWS 6500’s BaleEye photoelectric sensor accurately detects a bale on the loading platform without any mechanical moving parts, which reduces maintenance. The baler has two propulsion wheels for better hoop traction in challenging conditions. The non-pneumatic drive wheels are made of industrial-grade polymer and never go flat, further reducing maintenance requirements.
