New LS Tractor MT2 & MT2E Compact Tractor Series Boast New, More Powerful Design
LS Tractor has unveiled 13 new compact tractors in its MT2 and MT2E series with numerous enhancements that the manufacturer says result in greater lift capacity, digging force, and fuel efficiency, as well as improved operator comfort. Available in cab and rollover protection system (ROPS) versions, the tractors have power ratings ranging from 24.6 to 42.5 gross horsepower (18.3 to 31.7 kilowatts). Compatibility with LS front-end loaders and backhoes varies from model to model.
Test-Proven Performance
LS Tractor, an LG group-owned brand, specializes in subcompact, compact, and utility tractors for agriculture, orchard, landscaping, and other applications.
The company says it tested the new MT2 and MT2E models over 1,000 hours in different environmental settings across the United States, including Texas, Michigan, and North Carolina.
Meet The Tractors
The MT2 and MT2E lineups comprise 14 models that draw power from either 3- or 4-cylinder Tier 4 liquid-cooled MHI or Yanmar diesel engines. Three new models join the MT232H in the MT2 series that includes 31.7-HP (23.6-kW) or 42.5-HP variants. The 10 models in the MT2E series are all new and rated for 24.6, 31.7, or 42.5 gross HP.
All models have a 1,433-pound (650-kilogram) hitch lift capacity. All MT2 tractors have a 2,506-lb (1,137-kg) loader lift capacity. MT2E series 24.6-HP models have a 1,965-lb (891-kg) loader lift capacity, while the other six variants have a 2,506-lb capacity.
Improved Lift & Digging Performance
LS Tractor says customers can expect a 16 to 22% increase in loader lift capacity from the new models; the company also boosted backhoe digging force by 30%. The tractors have a new E/G RPM interlocking switch that enables a quick boost of loader speed and lift. The company also coated MT2 series-compatible loaders and backhoes with an auto-deposition chemical coating to prevent rusting.
Enhancements All Around
That’s not all. In addition to cruise control and linked pedal functionalities, the tractors equip a 1-inch (2.5-centimeter) larger tire size that’s available in expanded Industrial, Versa Turf, and Ag/Turf options. A new digital instrument display provides easy access to performance- and maintenance-related data. The new models are also its first with LED headlights, the company says.
LS says the new tractors have a sleeker, more modern appearance, with an updated hood and a 20% increase in open grille space, along with deeper blue and black colors and gray tire rims. Cab-equipped models provide improved comfort and visibility, seat and armrest enhancements, and more.
