Bobcat recently launched its M3-Series of loaders, which includes the S510 and S590 skid steers and the T550 and T595 compact track loaders. All of the machines are powered by 2.4-liter Tier 4 diesel engines that produce between 55 and 70 horsepower (41 and 52 kilowatts) and don’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF). These powerplants are specifically designed to increase available horsepower and torque for both the loader itself as well as the attachments. It benefits from an improved fuel filter and a dual-path cooling system as well.

Bobcat also designed the new M3-Series to be easier to service. For example, the tailgate swings open for easier access to engine checkpoints, and the cab tips up to provide access to hydrostatic and hydraulic systems. Other maintenance-related features include automatic machine shutdown, battery rundown protection, and on-board diagnostics.

    Interior & Exterior Cab Features

The cab emphasizes operator comfort with an adjustable suspension seat, larger door for easier entry and exit, and a pressurized interior that prevents dust and other debris from entering the cab. Other interior and exterior cab feature include fingertip controls and a dial hand throttle, a 12-volt outlet for device charging, halogen lights, and all-around visibility.

Options include selectable joystick control, Bobcat MaxControl remote operation, automatic ride control, hydraulic bucket positions, LED side lights, air conditioning and heating, Bobcat Machine IQ Wireless Communications, and more.

    Quick & Easy Attachment Changes

The M3-Series uses the Bobcat Bob-Tach system for attaching and removing attachments. The system makes it easier to swap attachments on the fly, with dozens of options to choose from that work seamlessly with the machine’s electric and hydraulic systems. There is also a Power Bob-Tach system available as an option on select models that allows for swapping non-hydraulic attachments without having to leave the cab.

The T550 compact track loader has an operating weight of 7,557 pounds and a rated operating capacity of 1,995 pounds. It’s powered by a Bobcat 2.4-liter Tier 4 diesel engine that produces 68 horsepower. (Photo courtesy of Bobcat.)

    More Bobcat M3-Series Specs

The Bobcat M3-Series S510 and S590 wheel skid steers have operating weights of 6,208 and 6,765 pounds (2,816 and 3,069 kilograms) and rated operating capacities of 1,790 and 2,000 lbs (812 and 907 kg), respectively. The T550 and T595 track skid steers have operating weights of 7,557 and 8,022 lbs (3,428 and 3,639 kg) and capacities of 1,995 and 2,200 lbs (905 and 998 kg), respectively.

The S510 has a 55-HP engine, the T595 has a 70-HP engine, and both the S590 and T550 have 68-HP (51-kW) engines. The S510 and T550 have radius lift paths, while the S590 and T595 have vertical lift paths.

    Meeting Customer Needs

“As an industry leader, we are always looking for opportunities to introduce our expanding lineup of Bobcat products to more customers,” says Matthew Kettner, director of product management at Doosan Bobcat North America. “With the new M3-Series, the high-performance and reliability Bobcat is known for is built into every machine, combined with practical options to meet the needs and budgets of every customer.”
