Develon (Formerly Doosan) Rolls Out New DX1000LC-7 110-Ton Crawler Excavator
Develon, formerly known as Doosan's construction equipment business, has introduced a new -7 Series heavy excavator for North America. The new Develon DX1000LC-7 is a conventional-tailswing crawler model in the 110-ton (100-metric-ton) weight class designed for maximum uptime, user comfort, performance, and efficiency. It can serve in pit, quarry, and aggregate applications, as well as in heavy construction and infrastructure projects.
“The new DX1000LC-7 excavator has the highest swing torque in its size class,” says Develon Director of Product Management Thomas Lee. “This is especially important for aggregate producers when they routinely turn or rotate the excavator’s upper structure to move rocks and other material. On construction sites, the DX1000LC-7 excavates, stockpiles, and loads material into dump trucks.”
Heavy-Duty Reliability
Develon built the DX1000LC-7 with a crossed-design swing bearing for better stress distribution. The manufacturer also reinforced the machine’s wear points and front stress points for durability.
The new excavator offers four power modes and four work modes. Its D-EcoPower system manages engine rpm and hydraulic oil flow to boost productivity while conserving fuel.
The operator can choose to give priority to the DX1000LC-7’s swing or boom movements. The swing priority mode works best in normal or light-duty bank-cutting applications, as well as when the swing angle is large. When the swing priority is turned off, the machine prioritizes the boom-up function. This emphasizes productivity in more strenuous tasks such as digging over the front or dumping over the side of the excavator.
High-Quality Interior
The cabin of the new DX1000LC-7 presents the user with a push-button starter and a 30% larger touchscreen that’s 8 inches in size. A heated seat and new, ergonomically designed foot pedals add to the creature comforts of the operator station. An optional, 360-degree all-around view monitoring (AVM) camera system offers a choice of five views of the excavator’s surroundings.
The joystick-mounted shortcut button gives operators single-button access to a commonly used function, such as controlling the window wipers, muting the audio system, or adjusting a camera. The excavator’s optional intelligent floating boom feature can also be actuated via the shortcut button if the user so chooses.
The new DX1000LC-7 supports Develon’s Fleet Management telematics system for machine status monitoring, remote diagnostics, and productivity logging, among other things.
Specs & Options
Develon’s DX1000LC-7 has an operating weight of 220,903 pounds (100,199 kilograms), a 629-horsepower (469-kilowatt) engine, and a standard bucket capacity of 7 cubic yards (5.4 cubic meters). Equipped with its standard arm configuration, the excavator’s maximum digging depth is 28.8 feet (8.8 meters) and its digging reach is 45.9 ft (14 m). The digger exerts a bucket breakout force of 88,185 pounds-force (40,000 kilograms-force) and an arm breakout force of 78,850 lbf (36,220 kgf).
DX1000LC-7’s list of available options includes a hydraulic removable counterweight, an auto-lubrication system, and two-way auxiliary flow for certain hydraulic attachments. Cab guarding, extra work lamps, a rotating beacon, and a straight travel feature are also available.
