Wacker Neuson Introduces New, More Powerful Electric WL28e Wheel Loader
Wacker Neuson recently announced additions to its emission-free equipment portfolio, including the new WL28e electric wheel loader. Wacker Neuson’s second electric wheel loader, the WL28e joins the WL20e and offers more power and an optional cabin for comfortable year-round use.
Emission-Free Material Handling
Buyers can choose among three lithium-ion batteries with 14.1, 18, and 29 kilowatt-hour power ratings to accommodate a variety of operating requirements. Operators can use the integrated Battery Management System to track battery life, temperature, and more to maintain safety and efficiency. Depending on the battery size, the WL28e can work as much as five hours on a single charge. A 3-kilowatt onboard charger comes standard and an optional second 3-kW charger can be added to fast-charge a medium or large battery.
No exhaust emissions and lower noise along with a compact design enable the electric wheel loader to operate in areas with restrictions and even indoors. To maintain safety with the lack of engine noise, the WL28e has the Blue Safety Light optical reversing warning system. The system is automatically activated when the reverse gear is active and projects a blue light on the ground to alert others of the machine’s movement.
More WL28e Benefits
The front end’s low design improves visibility and allows high tipping loads. The electric wheel loader has a 100% differential lock that, when activated, provides maximum traction and thrusting power and helps reduce tire wear. The WL28e can also be equipped with a fold-down operator’s canopy, complete with a rollover protection system/falling object protection system (ROPS/FOPS)-tested Easy Protection System, which increases the machine’s flexibility and allows it to pass through low-clearance areas.
Operator Comfort
The 4-pillar cab has deep-drawn windows, a panoramic windshield that is electrically heated, and heated ergonomic seats. An air-suspended seat is available as an option. Two ergonomic joysticks are available depending on the configuration; these control travel direction and speed as well as the differential lock, the third control circuit, and all electrical functions. The cab’s suspension with hydromounts absorbs vibration to provide a smoother ride and reduces operator fatigue.
