Cutting Edge Auctions Notches Success With Pre-AuctionTime & AuctionTime
While attending the Sandhills Global Forum in June, Andrew Shick, president of Cutting Edge Auctions, shared several notable sales successes the company has achieved for its customers using Sandhills’ Pre-AuctionTime and AuctionTime auction platforms. The company, which is based in Grand Junction, Colorado, also uses Machinery Trader, TractorHouse, Truck Paper, CurrencyFinance, and other Sandhills solutions.
Exceeding Customer Expectations With Pre-AuctionTime
Cutting Edge Auctions sells a wide range of equipment for the commercial trucking, agricultural, and construction industries. In addition to U.S. buyers, the company has sold assets to customers in Japan, Nigeria, Mexico, Ukraine, and beyond. Shick finds Pre-AuctionTime especially effective for meeting his customers’ sales needs.
“Pre-AuctionTime is a great platform we can use along with regular auctions,” he says. Usually, he adds, “If the item is priced right, we can sell it ahead of the auction and get what the customer wants and make it a great experience for them.”
One of the first consignments that Cutting Edge Auctions handled after its launch in 2019 was worth roughly $2 million. “We listed on Pre-AuctionTime and probably sold 60% of the equipment” there for more than the customer anticipated, he says. “That was a huge success for us while getting started. My customer was really happy—and he’s still my customer today,” Shick says.
