Volvo To Display Innovative Green Tech & VNR Electric At ACT Expo
Volvo Trucks North America will be present at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2023, running May 1 to 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The manufacturer plans to showcase its latest zero-emission VNR Electric truck alongside other major Volvo Group advancements, such as its hydrogen fuel cell and e-axle electric driveline concept. Volvo Autonomous Solutions will also display a VNL 760 equipped with autonomous driving tech from Aurora Driver for long-haul freight distribution.
“ACT Expo is the premier event to showcase the development and deployment of Volvo Trucks’ expansive electromobility ecosystem that supports our VNR Electric models and display the innovative technologies that will support future generations of trucks,” says Volvo Trucks North America President Peter Voorhoeve. “Technologies that we offer today to reduce fleets’ environmental footprint include our VNR Electric trucks, optimized advanced technology internal combustion engines (ICE) such as the D13TC with I-Torque, and supporting connectivity services, combined with future technologies like hydrogen in both fuel cell and ICE applications.”
The Enhanced VNR Electric
The new VNR Electric 6x2 that will be displayed at ACT Expo is equipped with a six-battery package capable of producing 340 kilowatts (455 horsepower) and 4,051 pounds-foot (5,493 newton-meters) of torque. Volvo says its VNR Electric 6x2 tractor is designed for local and regional deliveries with heavier payloads, and the six-battery package offers an operational range of 275 miles (442 kilometers). Volvo Trucks’ booth (#5464) will also showcase a charger from Gilbarco Veeder-Root to demonstrate the type of charging solutions available as part of the Vender Direct Shipping Program where customers can purchase charging hardware directly from Volvo Truck dealers.
Volvo Expertise
Volvo Trucks and Volvo Group executives are taking part in a number of panels, presentations, and workshops throughout the Expo. Just a few of the speaking engagements attendees can visit include a battery tech workshop, an electric vehicle charging event, and a panel on the future of ultra clean heavy-duty vehicles. On May 2, Volvo Trucks will also host a press announcement at its booth.
